Choose the scale of the answer

Where was this photograph taken?

Choose a world-map pin, a country answer or a U.S. state before reading the scene.

Why these games?

A photograph can suggest a continent without identifying its street. These picks use different answer scales, so choose the task before deciding whether a clue is precise enough. WhereTaken asks for a map pin, Classic accepts a country or region, and the U.S. edition narrows the pool to states. TimeGuessr adds a separate year estimate for a second investigation. None of these still images guarantees free movement around a corner. Compare language, terrain and infrastructure for a broad region, then seek a landmark or place name if pinpointing is required. After the reveal, separate a wrong region from an inaccurate position, and use the next session to practice the weaker skill.

  1. WhereTaken Classic — classic daily street photograph and progression tracker before the country/region guess

    WhereTaken Classic

Answer at country or region scale and continue into bonus geography. Choose this older host when exact coordinates are less interesting than interpreting the scene and learning its national context.

  2. WhereTaken US — u.s. landscape photograph and five-stage progression tracker in the daily state puzzle

    WhereTaken US

Distinguish U.S. states from a photograph, then test facts, landmarks, capitals and cities. Shared language makes regional terrain and infrastructure more important than easy country-level clues.
