Privacy policy
This policy describes the geography-game directory at mapgame.app. External games have their own privacy policies and data practices.
Browsing the directory
The directory does not require an account or collect game scores. Search and filter choices are processed in your browser and can appear in the page URL. The directory does not save new local-storage preferences or embed external games.
Screenshots are served as local image files by mapgame.app. Viewing a screenshot does not load the corresponding game website. Old game progress saved by the previous version may remain in your browser; the directory does not read it. You can remove it through your browser’s site-data settings.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits, the pages people read and how they find the directory. The Google tag loads on production pages and can use cookies to distinguish visits and measure engagement. Analytics information can include page URLs, referring websites, browser and device details, and approximate geographic information.
Google processes analytics information under its own practices. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can manage cookies and tracking permissions through your browser settings.
Hosting and technical requests
MapGame is configured for Cloudflare hosting. Delivering and protecting a website involves processing request information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested URLs and timestamps. The hosting provider may process technical logs or use security mechanisms according to its own practices. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Do not put private information in the search box or URL. Request URLs can appear in analytics reports, ordinary hosting logs, browser history and links you share.
Email contact
Contact links open your email app. If you choose to send a message, its address, contents and attachments are handled by your email provider and the site operator’s email service. We use correspondence to address suggestions, corrections or creator requests. Do not send account passwords or other sensitive data.
To ask about your correspondence or request its deletion, write to contact@mapgame.app from the relevant address. Requests are subject to applicable record-keeping obligations.
External websites
Official-game and research links take you to independent websites. Those sites may use accounts, cookies, advertising, analytics, purchases or other services. Review their policies before providing information. Their operators control their own data collection.
Future changes
Changes to measurement providers or advertising will be described here with a revised date. The current edition contains no Google AdSense code.
