WhereTaken Classic: recognize the country, then follow the bonus trail

A street sign can settle the main country without identifying its exact street. Use that broader answer scale, then switch your reasoning when a bonus asks for a different kind of place.

Why play WhereTaken Classic?

WhereTaken Classic preserves the photo-to-country format on wheretaken.teuteuf.fr. The checked page explicitly introduces its Classic name and links the new map-pin WhereTaken as a separate product. A photograph, country/region input and guess button make the main task clear: identify the national or territorial setting without having to place an exact point on a world map.

The official rules and FAQ describe bonus geography tasks after the main answer, including landmark, capital/map and city questions. Country recognition and those follow-ups use different knowledge, so success with a street scene does not guarantee the next bonus. Premium is advertised for removing ads, playing the archive and replaying games; those paid flows were not part of our public check.

How does WhereTaken Classic work?

The first task asks for a country-scale interpretation of a still scene. Visible language, road design and surroundings can support that answer without identifying the exact street. After the reveal, bonus questions shift the target to other geographic associations. Read each new prompt carefully instead of assuming that the main country answer is sufficient for a landmark, capital or city question.

How do you play WhereTaken Classic?

  1. Inspect the day’s photograph and select a plausible country or region.
  2. Submit the answer and combine subsequent feedback with the original visual clues.
  3. After the main reveal, read each bonus prompt before answering the landmark, map or city task.

How can you improve at WhereTaken Classic?

  1. Use a country-scale clue set

Combine script, infrastructure and terrain instead of searching for one famous landmark immediately. The main answer does not require an exact coordinate.

  2. Retain the photo evidence

Geographic feedback helps narrow the guess, but a nearby country still needs to fit the scene. Do not let distance alone override a contradictory language or road clue.

  3. Treat each bonus separately

A landmark photo, capital-map prompt and city question call for different evidence. Read the target before relying on the country knowledge that solved the first stage.

The page advertises archives and replay among Teuteuf Premium features. We checked the guest daily entry; do not assume that the same access includes those extras.
