Daily puzzles
Today’s temperature is a move in an arithmetic game. Estimate useful cities, preserve a finishable remainder and keep the same temperature scale throughout your five-guess plan.
Weather Darts combines city knowledge with a temperature countdown. A city guess subtracts its current temperature from the remaining target. You have up to five guesses; reaching zero wins, while taking the remaining total below zero busts.
The game’s help attributes weather to Open-Meteo and city data to SimpleMaps. Celsius and Fahrenheit are more than cosmetic: the guide says switching units changes the game values. Choose the unit before your first guess, then reason about current weather rather than a city’s annual average climate.
The best city depends on the remainder, not simply on finding the hottest place. A large subtraction can advance the first move, but the final target may call for a mild or cold city. Think about season, hemisphere and time of day as estimates, then revise using the actual temperature returned. Exact arithmetic matters because a slightly too-hot final choice can turn a near solution into a bust.
Leave a total that plausible city temperatures can finish. Spending most of the target early is less useful if the remainder is difficult to match.
Consider hemisphere and local season, then remember daily variation. A city’s reputation for heat does not guarantee its temperature at the moment of the round.
Choose the scale you can estimate comfortably before guessing. The values change when units change, so carry one consistent arithmetic plan through the round.
You like connecting climate knowledge to a numerical puzzle. It turns cities into useful temperature choices rather than places to locate on a map.
You prefer stable historical datasets or pure country recall. Current weather and exact subtraction introduce variability beyond traditional geography questions.
Choose a different game based on the experience you want.
The checked rules describe current temperatures and cite Open-Meteo. Use present weather expectations rather than treating a familiar climate average as the exact subtraction.
The rules describe that as a bust. Aim for an exact zero within the five guesses, rather than selecting a city that merely leaves the smallest negative remainder.
