MapGuess: choose the geographic feature before placing the answer

A capital, province and river do not occupy space in the same way. Select a subject deliberately and let its feature type determine how you read the map.

Why play MapGuess?

MapGuess’s English menu lists Provinces, Countries, Capitals, Cities, Flags, Seas, Mountains, Rivers and Lakes. Its introduction describes clicking the map, reviewing feedback and choosing between learning and score-oriented challenges. This gives physical geography equal prominence with national borders.

Daily Challenge, Tower of Babel, Graffiti and Leaderboard entries expand the menu beyond standard practice. We checked the public selection interface, not every tower, canvas or ranked flow. Language controls include English alongside Chinese and Japanese options.

How does MapGuess work?

Placement changes with the feature being asked for. A province occupies an area, a capital is a point and a river follows a route. Read the target type before choosing the scale of your answer. Familiar country borders can anchor physical features, but they do not necessarily contain the whole sea, mountain range or river.

How do you play MapGuess?

  1. Open the English entry and choose the geographic subject you want to practice.
  2. Use the selected mode’s map prompt and feedback to refine placement.
  3. Move from learning to a challenge only after checking that format’s timer and scoring instructions.

How can you improve at MapGuess?

  1. Identify point versus region

Decide what geographic object the prompt names. Do not answer a regional feature as though it were one city coordinate.

  2. Learn physical anchors

Use coastlines, major river systems and mountain belts to organize difficult prompts. Political boundaries alone are not enough for every subject.

  3. Switch mode with a goal

Practice one weak subject before sampling the whole catalog. The learning-to-challenge choice is useful when it tests an established skill.

Were Tower and Graffiti tested?
